Faith
This morning I woke up overlooking the Atlantic and I thought to myself, that this is a new day. A chance at a new and better beginning, for myself and for the world.
With all the events that have gone on over the past few days, it was easy for me to descend into despair, anger, sadness and bitterness. I was angry at the injustice that has expressed itself as violence and hatred has grown.
Yet today, I am hopeful. I am hopeful because I know there are good people in the world.
I had just come from Georgia, where the Carter Center stands. I am sad that it was closed due to the pandemic, but I was reminded of President Jimmy Carter.
Carter was, in my opinion, ahead of his time. He worked for peace and human rights. He worked for bettering humanity as a whole. He worked for the environment and people, and in doing so, the whole world.
He is no doubt, an exceptional person in history and I hope he continues to live among us for many many more years to come.
I had just watched a few videos on youtube about him and I am so happy I did. He gave me a wonderful gift of faith. Faith that the truth will prevail no matter what. That good people will continue to do the good work. That Love will save the day.
Thank you President Carter. I was too young when you were president, but I am older now and I look to you for inspiration and leadership. I know others will as well.
For now, you remain my favorite president of my time. I hope to meet you someday.
Please share your thoughts!
With Love,
Charlie
