For the Children

Yesterday I volunteered as a poll watcher for the New Georgia Project, a non partisan org that encourages all Georgians to vote. Apparently, voter suppression is a very real thing here in America, and I’m not down with that.

Originally, I came to GA to help with the Ossoff/Warnock campaign as they both seem to be for the working class. Doing brief research of all the candidates, I felt that O/W was better suited to be part of the leadership of America. Morality played a big part as it should.

At the time, I didn’t realize the importance of this election. By winning the senate, we can keep the obstructionists from the progress this country sorely needs. By unifying the US government, we can then use our position to influence the world. We must make it work for all people, not just the affluent. Not just for white people. For ALL people.

Taking part of in the NGP was a good experience for me. It was good to watch all the citizens, regardless of who they vote for, taking part in the process of Democracy. It was a good introduction to GA, especially for a guy from CA.

I then went to an Ossoff/Warnock rally in downtown Atlanta and that was pretty cool. It was nice to see the young people take part and become more involved in politics. They seem to know better. They seem to want better. My generations sure as hell couldn’t. But we can help our children.

Shouldn’t we?

With love,

Charlie
